Ralis BB Line
Ralis BB Line measures how much of each bar’s true range was won by buyers, smooths it into one 0–100 line, and turns bullish above 55 and bearish below 45. It runs as an overlay that keeps the book and a companion pane that draws the line.
What it is
For every bar it takes the true range (high and low, extended to the prior close) and asks where the close landed inside it. A close at the top is 100% buying pressure; a close at the bottom is 0%. It blends that single-bar reading with the same measure summed over a lookback window, then smooths the blend with a simple moving average. The bear line is simply 100 minus the bull line, so the pane draws one line. It runs on daily bars and is long or cash, never short. Two independent sleeves trade it: a crossover sleeve that follows the 55/45 state and a smaller-evidence spread sleeve that trades extreme readings.

Signals and rules
- Bullish: the line closes above 55. Bearish: it closes below 45. Between the two the state does not change, which cuts whipsaw around 50.
- Crossover sleeve (staircase): while bullish it buys half of its remaining cash at the flip and again every 10 bars; while bearish it sells a quarter of its holdings at the flip and every 20 bars. A new state restarts the count.
- Spread sleeve: when the gap between the bull and bear lines is wider than its 98th percentile of the previous 200 bars, it buys with all its cash if bulls lead and sells everything if bears lead. Those events are rare, so the code itself labels this sleeve low-evidence.
- Decisions use the confirmed daily close and fill at the next open.
Reading the chart
- The line is white while bullish and yellow while bearish, with a green or magenta background tint for the state.
- Horizontal lines at 55 and 45 mark the dead zone; purple step lines mark the extreme-spread bands.
- Triangles mark state flips; cyan and magenta diamonds mark crossover-sleeve buys and sells; green and red circles mark spread-sleeve fills.
- The readout lists the line value, the state and how long it has held, how far the next flip is, each sleeve’s position and the preset in use.
Where it appears on MystTrades
Ralis BB Line is not computed on the site yet. Its readout style (the “Ralis detailed” performance table) is used by other indicators on these pages.
Tested results and limits
No Ralis BB chart table is published here. The presets come from the owner’s own parameter sweeps on daily bars; the code notes that the crypto preset is an owner’s choice rather than a tested pass, and that every length counts chart bars, so it was tested on daily charts only.
Alerts
In TradingView open the alert dialog, set Condition to Ralis BB Overlay, pick the event you want from the list, and choose Once per bar close. Events are decided on the confirmed close; where an order is involved it fills at the next open.
- Next open: crossover BUY / SELL: a staircase step is due at the next open.
- Next open: spread BUY / SELL: an extreme-spread order is due.
- Next open: any Ralis order: one alert for all of the above.
- Filled (report) alerts confirm each fill after the bar closes.
